Navigate to the Edit Lesson page for the Lesson you would like to add your SCORM Course to.

Select one of the 3 server options (as shown above) to upload your file:

    • Upload to US-CENTRAL - This will open up upload option right below where you can enter the following details:
  1. Display name - this description will be shown to the student.

  2. From the Resource Format dropdown box, select SCORM ENGINE.

  3. Click the radio button (circle) next to File and then click the Browse button to navigate to the file on your hard drive (Note: The file must be in zip format, and must have the imsmanifest.xml file at the root level. Most content publishers will produce a SCORM Course in this fashion).

  4. Set the estimated duration (optional).

  5. Click the Submit button to upload the files (Note: Only click Submit once).

Upload to AP-SG – This will open a pop-up window for you to upload your contents to the Regional Content Repository in Singapore. You have to enter the following details:

  1. Display name – this description will be shown to the Student

  2. From the Resource Format dropdown, select SCORM ENGINE.

  3. Set the estimated duration (optional).

  4. Click the Select File button and browse your hard drive for the respective zip file.

  5. Once you select the file, you will see the file name, the file size and it’s current upload status. Click the Upload button to proceed with the upload.

    Once the file is uploaded, the status will change to Finished with a green tick next to it. Also displayed is the following message File Uploaded Successfully. Please Click Submit ButtonClick the Submit button to complete the process (Note: Only click Submit once). This will close the window and show the file that has been uploaded to the Lesson.

Upload to AP-HK – This option will open a similar pop-up window, for you to upload your contents to the Regional Content Repository in Hong Kong. You need to follow the same procedure as for 2, above.


The Content Widget will present content in the Content Library and will display by content type. This will allow students to see the content irrespective of the course they are taking.  Visibility of this widget can be controlled by NetExam Administrators. Note: Users will not get credit for the content they launch from the Content Widget

Admins can create the sharable content via Admin site – Courses – Content Library link

Admin can put a check mark to select the content to be visible in the Content widget.

How to enable Content Library Widget

In admin site; the Content Widget could be accessed in the following manner.

1) Click on Communication. Then Learner Portal Setting.

2) Click on the “Add Widget” drop down menu.

3) Select Content Library by clicking on “add”.

The selected content will be displayed in the Student site in the following manner.

DocuSign Integration will allow you to upload resources in e-Signature format where learners can sign the documents as part of their course lesson completions.
  • Course creators should be able to choose a new resource format "e-Signature" and upload e-Signature enabled PDF file.
  • When a learner launches this resource from the Leaner app, it should show the PDF file and allow them to sign it. Signing it should mark the lesson as complete.
  • Once it's signed the file should be saved on the server.
  • When a learner comes back to the course and launches the resource they should see the signed version.
  • The signed PDF should also be available for the admin's to access via the Admin app's user transcript.

How to Embed video as a lesson resource?

1. Go to the course and open the lesson you need to add your lesson resource. From the Resources in this section, click Upload to US-Central

2. Once you provide a name to your resource, select the resource type.

3. Select "Embedded Video" as Resource Type.

4. Typically, the URL appears in this format:

5. Modify the URL format in the following way.

6. Notice that we removed watch?v= and included "embed" in its place

7. Preview the course as Learner to see how it displays before announcing the course to your students.


Please consider the following conventions when naming your resource files before uploading them in to NetExam.

  • Try to avoid white spaces and special characters when naming the resource files.  If you must have spaces, use underscores (_) or dashes (-).

Eg: myresource_10_10_2012-ICT_For_Dummies

  • Special characters in the file name are not supported. Special characters include brackets, hash signs # , dollar signs $, @, *, (), +, =, ! or any non-alpha numeric sign.

Using Salesforce? Using Vidyard? Now you can use both with NetExam. Vidyard is an innovative video management application that provides lots of user data related to the video. Primarily used in marketing and sales applications, the availability of video use data works extremely well in a learning management system as well. We like it because of its easy integrations with Salesforce. (for more information:



NetExam has enabled the integration of Vidyard video (, as a resource available for lessons.  Admin selects the resource format “Vidyard Video” when adding a video as a resource. The video becomes a part of the lesson.



As the lesson/video is viewed, the completion data is captured and made available in Ad Hoc Reports as Lesson Resource Usage Report.

Selecting this will generate the following report. The Percentage Completed data can be used to confirm students completion of viewing the video.
